This role sits at the interface between Allianz and its regulators – you will guide Allianz through interactions with regulators, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and manage disputes that may result from alleged non-compliances. Join a collegial team where every day is different!

About the role

  • Guide and advise Allianz through regulatory inquiries, including both contentious and non-contentious matters, different areas law and parts of Allianz’s business.
  • Provide legal advice relating to potential regulatory non-compliances to ensure Allianz operates in compliance with applicable laws and meets regulator expectations.
  • Provide recommendations to stakeholders on regulatory issues and engage with regulators, such as ASIC and ACCC.
  • Advise on a range of disputes/litigation matters and different areas of law (such as financial services, insurance or corporations law).
  • Assess and communicate legal risk, guiding decision-making and escalating matters where required.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and support the business to prepare for their impact.
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders to deliver solution-focused legal advice and drive continuous improvement.

About you

  • Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) with a current Australian legal practising certificate.
  • Admitted to practise as a barrister and solicitor of a State or Territory Supreme Court in Australia.
  • At least 5 – 7 years relevant legal experience within a large national or global law firm.
  • Expertise in financial services law and compliance requirements (insurance expertise is highly regarded, but not essential for this role).
  • Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to partner and communicate with stakeholders across the organisation with clarity, impact and influence.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
