As a Business Manager (f/m/d) in the Data, Technology & Operations (DTO) function at Allianz Global Investors, you will be enabling cross-functional collaboration and driving organization-wide strategic initiatives across business and technology.
You will act as a strategic partner to the DTO leadership team, steering operational excellence and strategic execution. You will be instrumental in enabling DTO’s transformation agenda, including the advancement of AI-driven capabilities, ensuring alignment with firm-wide strategic priorities, and fostering a culture of efficiency, transparency, and resilience.
This position will be based in Frankfurt or Munich.
What you will do
- Contribute to the DTO Office book of work, supporting the Global CTO in delivering strategic priorities across Data, Technology & Operations
- Act as a strategic advisor and sparring partner to DTO leadership, supporting both complex initiatives and day-to-day business management
- Support the development and execution of AllianzGI’s enterprise-wide AI transformation, ensuring alignment and collaboration across DTO
- Orchestrate strategic planning cycles and leadership engagements (e.g., offsites, reviews), ensuring alignment and continuous prioritization
- Prepare high-impact executive materials and communications for senior leadership (e.g., ExCo, DTO leadership, townhalls), including strategic messaging and change narratives
- Facilitate governance forums and leadership meetings, including agenda setting, briefing materials and follow-ups, ensuring effective decision-making
- Act as a central coordination point across global DTO teams and key stakeholders (e.g., Risk, Finance, HR, Audit, Business Resilience)
- Oversee financial planning and cost management activities, partnering closely with Finance to ensure transparency and strategic alignment
- Support performance management across DTO, including the development of KPIs and tracking mechanisms to drive accountability
- Contribute to people and culture initiatives including analysis, action planning and implementation follow-up
What you bring
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in the financial industry or consulting sector
- Strong understanding of the asset management value chain, with a focus on operations, technology, and data
- Experience in project management, transformation, or consulting roles preferred
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a structured mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization
- Know-how of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a strong willingness to learn more
- Ability to constructively and respectfully challenge the status quo
- Diplomacy, flexibility, and proactivity
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English both written and spoken; additional European languages are a plus
- Prior experience in delivering AI initiatives preferred
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Power BI is a plus
