About Constellation Software
Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU) acquires, manages, and builds vertical market software businesses. Our more than 1,200 businesses serve customers in over 160 countries, and operate autonomously within our operating groups. We are a permanent owner of the businesses we acquire and operate in a highly decentralized manner.
The Role
The Director, Corporate Strategy works within the Office of the CEO of Constellation Software on strategy questions that span the company rather than sit within any single operating group or business unit.
The role combines corporate strategy, analytical problem solving, and selective ownership of company-level projects. The mandate will evolve with Constellation’s priorities, and may include assessing strategic questions, developing recommendations for senior leadership, coordinating work across operating groups, or helping establish new capabilities where needed. The common thread is working on matters that are important to the company as a whole but do not sit naturally within a single operating group or business unit.
In this role, you will:
- Take strategy questions from ambiguity to a defensible answer: scope the question, source the data, build the analysis, and form a recommendation.
- Build and maintain the financial and quantitative analysis underpinning those recommendations.
- Prepare materials for the CEO and senior leadership.
- Lead projects and initiatives end to end, working with operating group and business unit leadership.
- Work with operating group finance, business development, and portfolio leadership to gather information and build a view.
Relevant Experience & Competencies
- 7-10+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, equity research, private equity, corporate development, or an in-house corporate strategy function.
- Strong financial and quantitative analysis. Ability to build a model independently, and to explain and defend how it works.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgment and executive presence to present to senior leadership and the Board.
- Experience in software, technology, or M&A is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record. MBA or professional designation is an asset but not required.
