WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The Manager, NA Project Coordination & Procurement has a pivotal role in Hyundai’s strategic partnership and alliances by identifying cost competitive initiatives and accelerating the localization of parts across strategic regional operations (North and South America).
  • This role will coordinate with Project Teams, domestic and international Purchasing, and Cross-Functional Teams to drive localization performance to meet tariff mitigation objectives. The position contributes directly to Hyundai’s competitiveness and resilience in a dynamic trade environment through development of the strategic joint purchasing opportunities.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Project Management: Function as key point of contact for the Project Team Evaluation Committee, that plans and coordinates all project activities. This includes development of project tracking timelines with key milestones and events for all collaboration activities.
  • Project Execution: Develop initiatives with Project Team counterparts to identify key components and materials in the Americas for joint sourcing opportunity and to improve supply chain agility.
  • Project Reporting: Maintain overall project status files and provide group Executive leadership regular updates on progress and potential roadblocks in key activities.
  • Collaborate with Project Team to identify potential local suppliers, utilize Hyundai Purchasing key contacts to request Supplier RFI’s, negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms for the organization.
  • Engage cross-functional teams in supplier selection, development, and evaluation processes and closely work with regional coordinators & purchasing teams.
  • Coordinate project status updates with HMNA PMO and Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) PMO teams to align on overall project status as the joint sourcing activity is one of the collaborative workstreams.
  • Support development of documentation for sharing information within the Project Team and obtaining Hyundai Legal approval prior to sharing.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Manufacturing and R&D to align joint purchasing localization and cost strategies with engineering, quality, and production teams at each manufacturing site.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager to support key team objectives.
  • Problem Solving: Partners with leadership to develop resolution of operational and strategic challenges related to localization and supplier performance. Escalates high-impact issues to senior leadership as needed.
  • Conduct meetings, as needed, with cross-functional team.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus.
  • Six or more years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Experience with cost optimization and localization strategies is necessary.
  • Proven track record in cost optimization, supplier management, and managing the information/activities of international trade regulations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. tariffs and global trade dynamics.
  • Proficiency in cost analysis, supplier development, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and data analytics tools.
  • Cross-cultural experience is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
  • Results-oriented and proactive.
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
