The Role:

As a Lead Product Designer, you will be a primary architect of the user experience for our flagship consumer mobile product. You are an expert practitioner who thrives at the intersection of human behavior, business strategy, and high-fidelity execution. You will ensure that every design decision at DailyPay is grounded in a deep understanding of our users' needs and the "so what" behind our product strategy.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a designer who can navigate a complex mobile-first ecosystem and build intuitive experiences for a diverse range of users. Based in our New York City office, this hybrid position blends remote focus with high-energy, on-site collaboration, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our UX, Research, and Product teams to solve the future of earned wage access.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Design Excellence & Craft: Own the end-to-end design lifecycle for consumer mobile features—from foundational discovery and wire-framing to pixel-perfect, developer-ready delivery across iOS and Android.

  • Squad Design Leadership: Act as the design authority within your product squad. You will be a strategic partner to Product and Engineering, aligning design initiatives with our 12-to-24-month vision and business goals.

  • Strategic Influence: Translate broad, conceptual ideas into valuable, elegant experiences. You will use design as a tool for collaboration, creating the artifacts necessary to align stakeholders across the organization.

  • Mentorship & Growth: Foster a culture of rigorous inquiry and craft excellence. You will elevate the team through active mentorship, thoughtful design critiques, and leading by example.

  • Methodological Rigor: Partner closely with the Research team to validate complex interactions and UI patterns. You’ll ensure our experience is both intuitive for the user and high-performing for the business.

  • Delivery & Systems: Collaborate with engineers to implement and maintain a cohesive product. You will help evolve our design system to ensure consistency and scalability across mobile and web platforms.

  • Market Advocacy: Stay at the forefront of the consumer finance and payments industries, ensuring our design patterns account for the unique nuances of financial wellness.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • 6+ years' experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing high-impact, consumer-facing mobile products that have shipped at scale.

  • Process Mastery: Deep expertise in managing the design process from start to finish—bringing your multidisciplinary squad along for the journey and knowing when to be "scrappy" vs. "deep-dive."

  • Mobile-First Mindset: Mastery of iOS and Android design patterns, with the ability to create high-fidelity prototypes that communicate complex motion and interaction.

  • Leadership Flexibility: A "player-coach" mentality. You are comfortable diving into Figma one hour and leading a high-level stakeholder alignment meeting the next.

  • Strategic Problem Solving: Proven ability to move from "insight" to "recommendation," with a track record of influencing product roadmaps.

  • Exceptional Communication: The ability to distill complex human behaviors and financial flows into clear, compelling narratives that move people to action.

  • Fintech Expertise (desirable): An appreciation for the complexities of financial data, regulated industries, or multi-sided marketplaces. You know how to design for trust and clarity.
