Company Overview

If you see technology as a way to smooth your path in life, our team does too: Your Path, Our Journey.

We believe in technology that connects talented people who embrace diversity to create and share paths we don't even know about (yet!). We work to generate value not only for our users but, above all, for the communities we serve and for society as a whole, making every day better for everyone with mobility and delivery services (99) or digital payments (99Pay).

To make life easier for millions of people every day, since 2018, we have been part of DiDi DiDi Global Inc., the world’s leading mobility technology platform. We are pioneers in creating innovative solutions that start in Brazil and scale up to make a positive impact in more than 12 countries where DiDi operates. This innovation encompasses sustainability, safety, artificial intelligence, financial markets, and much more.

Whether building projects from scratch or improving our solutions, we enjoy challenges that give us butterflies, which is why we work at a fast pace with respect, collaboration, and good humor. Along this journey, we also draw strength from diverse experiences and opinions to grow together, fail quickly, learn, and adjust the course to create solutions that deliver even better results.

Team Overview

We’re looking for a curious, analytical, and critical thinker with a strong safety mindset and the ability to translate safety gaps into preventive solutions and strategic recommendations. Someone who can connect dots, work through ambiguity, and proactively stay ahead of evolving fraud patterns.

As part of our Safety Operations Team, you’ll play a key role in protecting the integrity of our platform across Food delivery, ensuring a safe and fair experience for customers, couriers, and merchants. You’ll work closely with regional and global stakeholders to own safety issues end-to-end and help shape scalable safety responses.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need hands-on experience owning safety operations, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance data-driven insights with business context. Experience within a Food delivery or marketplace platform is highly valued, especially if you understand common fraud scenarios and operational vulnerabilities in this space.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design the Safety Food Strategy for Brazil and align the stakeholders on the implementation

  • Establish Top Risks and define action plans to decrease platform risk.

  • Independently own and manage safety operation issues related to merchants, couriers, or customers within the Food delivery business.

  • Identify, analyze, and monitor safety issue patterns using quantitative and qualitative signals.

  • Design preventive solutions (rules, controls, process improvements, safety features) or provide strategic recommendations to mitigate safety risks.

  • Partner with strategy, product, data, and operations teams to support the implementation and scaling of safety measures.

  • Contribute to safety frameworks, dashboards, reports, and leadership-level insights.

  • Manage and collaborate with external vendors or third-party fraud tools, ensuring alignment with operational needs.

  • Support complex investigations when needed, focusing on root cause analysis and prevention, not only case resolution.

  • Collaborate with global teams, sharing best practices and supporting multi-market safety initiatives.

Role Qualifications

  • Proven experience in safety operations or safety strategy within a Food delivery or marketplace platform.

  • Ability to independently own and manage safety issues related to merchants, couriers, or customers, driving resolution end-to-end.

  • Demonstrated capability to design preventive safety solutions or provide strategic recommendations for safety scenarios in food delivery or similar businesses.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity and incomplete information.

  • Solid understanding of common crime schemes and abuse patterns in the marketplace or on-demand platforms.

  • Clear communication skills, able to synthesize findings and influence cross-functional and global stakeholders.

  • Experience collaborating across teams and regions; comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).

  • We believe in integrity – Integrity is at the very core of our business. We are people who always want to do the right thing. Our intentions are sincere, we speak our minds and listen to each other.

  • We believe in Diversity and Inclusion – Diversity is one of our biggest strengths. Our differences are what makes us distinct. We respect each other and believe in equal opportunities for all.
Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity is not a future vision or a wish for something we want someday; it is a non-negotiable value of who we are today.

We embrace inclusion, plurality, and respect, and to achieve this, we rely on the governance of the Diversity Committee, which works alongside HR, our leadership, and identity groups—99Adapta, 99Afro, 99Colors, 99Womem, and 99Familys.

This is our ongoing journey, with much more still to come.

We reinforce that this position is open to everyone, including pregnant people and people with disabilities (PwD).
