The Tech Governance team is necessary for maintaining governance across Grab Tech's personnel, processes, and systems. We focus on implementing policies and controls while safeguarding company assets against risks. Our team values collaboration with multiple functions to enhance governance and drive continuous improvement in technology operations through innovative solutions.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Tech Governance Specialist to join our team. You will be reporting to the Head of Governance, and you will work with the Tech and Engineering Teams and other Governance, Risk and Compliance functions. You will lead Grab Tech's proactive governance initiatives — ensuring compliance, scalable control design, and cross-functional alignment.

This role is based onsite in our Singapore One North office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Develop and maintain our Technology Governance Framework, including policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Perform assessment of technology risks including AI-specific risks and defining controls to mitigate these risks.
  • Define product specifications for controls that need to be implemented into systems and work with Tech Teams to systematically enforce controls
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of governance controls and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Integrate AI governance into existing governance, risk and compliance processes and tooling.
  • Use AI-driven tools to automate governance operations, including automated compliance checks, controls monitoring, policy drafting, and automated evidence collection
  • Be the control owner for technology controls and will be the main audit subjects for SOX audits and regulatory inspections
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to integrate governance best practices into all technology projects and operations.
  • Provide guidance and training on technology governance to staff across the organisation.
  • Be an internal thought leader on the latest technology trends, AI ethics, and regulatory changes to future-proof our governance posture.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Risk Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in IT governance, risk management, or compliance roles.
  • Experience with IT governance and control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar
  • Experience with managing audits, control reviews, remediation tracking, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in regulated industries such as financial services
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where autonomy and self-decision making is needed (to an extent) and able to juggle between different projects/tasks.
