About Guardio

Join us in shaping the future of online protection. Guardio is redefining the way people stay safe online. As a B2C cybersecurity startup, our mission is to make digital security simple, proactive, and accessible for individuals, families, and small businesses around the world. We're building a platform that protects millions from scams, fraud, and security gaps before they become real problems.

Our team of 90+ includes engineers, designers, marketers, and support specialists. Each person brings their own voice, shaping products people trust and love to use. We move fast, learn constantly, and work across disciplines. And we don't forget to enjoy the ride with team dinners, karaoke nights, and a culture that thrives on curiosity and connection.

About the role

We are looking for a highly operational, detail-obsessed Head of Marketing Automation to own the end-to-end customer lifecycle for millions of Guardio users. While you possess the strategic vision to define the holistic journey across non-paying, paying, and churning segments, you are a builder at heart who loves getting into the weeds.

You will own our MarTech stack (Customer.io), lead a cross-functional squad, and architect the complex sequences, triggers, and granular segments that make up our communication engine. If you love optimizing business metrics through deep data analysis, rigorous A/B testing, and flawless execution, this is the role for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the Journey End-to-End: Direct how Guardio communicates with users at every stage of their lifecycle—architecting the exact flows, offers, and sequences for non-paying users, active subscribers, and churning customers.
  • Master the Stack & Set the Standard: Act as the ultimate owner of our lifecycle marketing CRM (Customer.io). You will establish operational best practices, build QA processes, and continuously evaluate and select new tools to keep our stack cutting-edge.
  • Lead an Interdisciplinary Squad: Manage, mentor, and align a high-performing team of Lifecycle Marketers and Growth Product Managers, guiding them to refine the customer journey, test granular offers, and optimize core business metrics.
  • Orchestrate Multi-Channel Integrations: Operate and own the technical integrations and delivery strategies for all B2C communication channels, building complex logic across SMS, Email, Push Notifications, and In-app messaging.
  • Drive AI, Automation & Delight: Utilize AI and machine learning tools to automate workflows, optimize messaging times, and ensure that the end-user experience remains holistic, highly personalized, and delightful at scale.
  • Obsess Over Data & Segmentation: Dive deep into user data to create highly targeted segments. Continuously test and iterate on specific triggers, payloads, and node logic to maximize conversion and retention.
  • Collaborate Across the Business: Act as the operational hub for the customer journey, partnering closely with Product, Growth, Customer Success, Engineering, Analytics, and Design to ensure technical feasibility and brand consistency.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Marketing Automation, CRM Operations, or Lifecycle Operations in a high-volume B2C App (Gaming, Learning, Subscription) or PLG B2B SaaS environment.
  • Proven track record of managing and scaling teams that include both operational marketers and technical/product-oriented roles (like Growth PMs).
  • Deep, technical expertise in enterprise-grade marketing automation platforms (Customer.io is a massive plus; Braze, Iterable, Leanplum, or similar are great). You actually know how to build the flows and manage data ingestion.
  • You live in the numbers. You know how to run statistically significant A/B/n tests on specific offers, analyze cohort data, and build processes that prevent errors across millions of daily sends.
  • You understand data models, event tracking, APIs, and webhooks. You can speak the same language as R&D and Analytics. (Familiarity with Liquid templating, HTML/CSS for email, or basic SQL is a huge advantage).
