So, what's the job?



We're looking for an Engineering Team Lead to own and elevate the protection experience millions of people rely on — across our browser extension, web app, and mobile app. This is the team that builds Guardio's security value where users actually feel it: the real-time warnings, the scam and phishing blocks, the "what we protected you from," and the path from a detected threat back to safety. You'll lead that team, set the craft bar, and own the client side of our protection product end-to-end.

You will:



• Own the real-time protection experience — block/warning pages, phishing & scam alerts, and threat-interception surfaces, across extension, web, and mobile.
• Own protection status, reporting & remediation — the security dashboard, "what we protected you from," and the flows that take users from a detected threat all the way to safe.
• Own the client-side protection engine — the in-client logic that scans, intercepts, and protects in real time — partnering with our security team to make it work end-to-end.
• Hold a security-grade quality bar — protection has to be accurate, fast, and clear; you make "great" objective and repeatable.
• Lead as a player-coach — set the bar by building alongside the team, then grow people and scale the team as it expands.
• Build AI-native — use AI tools and agents to multiply your team's output, with the judgment to know when to trust them.
• Grow the team — mentor a strong core and hire the client engineers who'll define Guardio's protection experience next.

• You're a senior engineer (5+ years building products).
• You're a product-minded client craftsperson. You think in user experience and real-world moments, not tickets. You care about UX, performance, and polish — and it shows in what you've shipped.
• You have a security mindset. You think like a defender: what could go wrong, what an attacker would do, the cost of a false alarm vs. a missed threat. (You've ideally built security, safety, privacy, or anti-abuse products — but a genuine defender instinct counts.)
• You're a world-class client engineer first (React/TypeScript across web; ideally mobile and/or the extension), with enough backend (Python) to own your features end-to-end. Client craft is the bar; backend is supporting.
• You lead by raising the bar. You make the engineers around you better, set standards, and ship fast without lowering quality.
• You're AI-native. You already build with AI daily — and you know when to verify before you trust.
• You're driven, grounded, and great to work with. You bring real energy to the team without the ego — a clear communicator, calm under pressure, quick to own a mistake, and the kind of person who makes everyone around them better.
