Broadcast Assistant Production Manager

40/29, the ABC affiliate in Rogers, Arkansas has an opening for an Assistant Production Manager. We are looking for a team player who is flexbile in their schedule and can manage a team of Production Assistants including Camera Operators, Audio Operators, Prompter Operators, and Techinical Directors. You will be responsible for all aspects of the morning production team and ensure that all team memebers are well trained with an understanding in their roles and expectations. The Assistant Production Manager must be proactive in their role and keep commmunication strong with the Production Manager along with the Engineering and News Departments. You will work with our production team to guarantee a successful broadcast is produced. You will report to the Engineering Director.

Responsibilities

  • Direct live broadcast newscasts free from errors.
  • Responsible for coordinating employee schedules for morning production team.
  • Must be proficient in all live broadcast news aspects (Technical Directing, Audio operation, Studio production).
  • Proficient with ENPS, VIZRT, Bit Central Video Playback.
  • Assist Production Manager with keeping lines of communication strong between departments (News, Engineering).
  • Work one-on-one with producers to ensure all newscasts are executed to the best of the teams’ abilities.
  • Employ strong communication with production crew when weather and breaking news permits.
  • Must have a pro-active attitude with problem solving skills.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of television newscast equipment and software
  • Videography experience helpful
  • Editing experience is necessary
  • Can deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
  • Related military experience will be considered
  • Schedule flexbility when necessary
