Hearst Creative Communications team is seeking a 2026 Summer Hearst Intern to assist in building creative storytelling for the company and its colleagues.

Duties include designing small graphic design projects, trend research in design, maintaining contact list of creative partners, helping to organize image portal, reviewing and cataloging video content, and assisting in video pre- and post-production.

The internship includes regular meetings to discuss design, strategy and creative progress on projects. The Creative Communications intern will ideate, develop and produce a special project over the course of the summer and present it to the Creative team in the last weeks of the program.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working individual who wants to learn about creative communications. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills with an attention to detail, strategic thinking, and an ability to prioritize tasks. Graphic design or film major a plus, design skills and knowledge of Creative Cloud programs preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on small scall graphic design project in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and or Photoshop.
  • Work closely with team members on video pre- and post-production.
  • Review, organize and catalogue video content.
  • Help manage image database of images and image releases.
  • Research and grow database of creative partners.
  • Assist in larger scale graphic design projects.
  • Attend team department meetings/brainstorming sessions.
  • Attend creative meetings with clients.

The internship will run from June 1, 2026-August 14, 2026, up to 35 hours per week.

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $20 per hour. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
