The Role…
The Picture Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Luxury Hub, providing essential assistance to the Picture and Production teams across Elle, Esquire, and Harper’s Bazaar. This position ensures an efficient workflow across multiple print issues and a broad range of content requests for all three luxury brands.
Main Duties…
- Conduct on-brand picture research and manage image call-ins for all print publications, including brand extensions, commercial projects, PR, and syndication requests.
- Liaise with photographers, agencies, galleries, PR representatives, and other contributors to source high-quality visuals that align with each brand’s identity.
- Manage image rights and usage for international content, maintaining clear communication with contacts to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Negotiate usage rights and fees in a cost-effective manner, secure high-resolution images, and maintain accurate budget spreadsheets.
- Ensure all copyright permissions are cleared and appropriate usage rights are secured.
- Maintain consistent communication with Art, Subbing, and Picture/Production teams to support the smooth progression of layouts.
- Attend regular meetings with the Art and Features departments to discuss feature concepts and determine appropriate visual treatments (e.g., picture research, photographic shoots, or illustration).
- Process invoices and liaise with the Finance department regarding payments and outstanding queries.
- Provide on-set production support, including attending shoots and assisting the team as needed.

Distribute issues, PDFs, and image files with credits to contributors and internal teams.

- Creative and visually driven, with the ability to generate strong ideas.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a demanding workload.
- Able to prioritise effectively and respond to urgent tasks.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in fashion, beauty, culture, and current affairs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
