Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Execute the Men’s Health and Women’s Health social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
- Shoot and edit short-form, social-first vertical video (primarily mobile) for brand social channels
- Edit vertical video footage from editors and contributors for social distribution
- Collaborate with editors and celebrity or expert talent to film engaging social-first video content
- Conceptualize and develop new social video series with the social team
- Write compelling, platform-optimized captions and headlines that reflect each brand’s voice
- Package and publish editorial content across platforms following best practices for each channel
- Monitor trends, breaking news, and cultural conversations to create timely and relevant social content
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
- Experience creating vertical video content for a brand, publisher, or digital media company
- Strong ability to shoot and edit mobile-first video with a clear understanding of vertical storytelling
- Familiarity with editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, iMovie, or CapCut
- A strong writer who can craft engaging, voice-driven captions and hooks for social platforms
- Deep familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and emerging social platforms
- Ability to analyze social performance data including views, impressions, and engagement metrics to inform content decisions
- Organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative and proactive, with a passion for health, fitness, wellness, lifestyle, and culture
- This is a New York City–based role with a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days per week in-office
The base salary for this role is $35/hour. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Men’s Health and Women’s Health are seeking a Temporary Social Media Editor to help execute and grow the brands’ presence across key platforms. Reporting to the Director, Special Projects, and working closely with the social media team, this role will support daily publishing, social-first content creation, vertical video production, and event coverage. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creatively ambitious, and deeply immersed in the social ecosystem.
