The Senior Director, Global Strategic Marketing will lead a team and the collective execution of multiple projects through all phases of the new product development stage-gates and launch excellence for the instruments, accessories and visualization portfolio of the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic System. Key activities include portfolio strategy and roadmap, holistic learning plan including market research and market, building the business cases with value propositions, working with development and cross functional partners to achieve milestones and drive go / no-go decisions as well as managing regional and external relationships in support of the OTTAVA System global launch.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Co-lead (with cross functional leadership team) new product development strategy and projects to execute on the pipeline strategy

  • Co-lead (with cross functional leadership team) the development of key business deliverables

  • Execute I&A and Viz portfolio strategy, including the target product profile with evidence generation strategy where appropriate.

  • Manage and support team of GSM project leads

  • Drive thorough understanding of the I&A and Viz market, competitive offerings for related instrument categories and portfolio working closely with the competitive and strategic insights teams

  • Drive strong collaboration as needed with Front End Team and associated cross functional partners (R&D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Human Factors, Pre-clinical, Clinical, and Medical (PCM), Business Development, etc.) to support continued innovation cadence

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of Marketing and / or sales experience in medical devices, or healthcare tech

  • A minimum of 2 years working in a development environment defining aspects of a market, product solution and / or target user

  • Medical technology or devices industry knowledge background

  • Outstanding analytics skills and ability to understand technically complex concepts

  • Ability to exercise judgment and appropriate risk taking

  • Ability to develop and manage and nurture customer relationships

  • Ability to manage and drive decisions at all levels of the organization

  • Have a strong track record of successful people management, building skills and leaders, galvanizing teams, and driving focus

  • Possess a strong ability to collaborate across boundaries (e.g., externally or with other J&J companies)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in both upstream / front-end / NPD and downstream / brand / customer-facing roles in region

  • Experience in medical robotics marketing or sales

  • Commercially savvy with knowledge of cross-functional processes in R&D, Quality, Supply Chain

Other:

  • This role will be based out of Cincinnati, OH. and may require up to 30% travel (International and Domestic).

  • The anticipated base pay range is $205,000 to $353,050
