We are searching for the best talent for Direct Materials Purchasing Manager to be in Juarez City.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • People Development: Supports team members’ professional growth so they can perform at their best and continue advancing in their careers.

  • Purchasing Team leadership: Lead the Purchasing team to ensure the purchase order process is executed per established policies, secures timely availability of assigned materials and components to support uninterrupted production. The team could include Buyers, Planners Strategic Capacity Specialists, Supply Chain Technicians. Supplier Relationship Management as it relates to day-to-day activities such as purchase order placement, volume variations, operational issues, account payable issues, etc.

  • Inventory Management and Slow and Obsolete Inventory: Develop, recommend, implement and track inventory strategies for designated material categories to optimize stock levels, minimize costs, and always ensure product availability.

  • Component Issue management: Engage and drive close cross functional collaboration with Source, Engineering, Planning, Lifecycle Management, R&D, Quality, among others, to proactively resolve issues and safeguard production continuity.

  • Supplier Capacity Management: Perform supply base capacity assessments to identify capacity gaps, develop mitigation plans, and track projects along with project leader until completion. Additionally, this role will collaborate with project leaders to properly prioritize projects and resource allocation.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement supply chain improvements through process optimization and digital tools.

  • Financials: Provides timely and accurate information to support budgeting processes across financial cycles. Delivers on established targets.

  • Manages the timely distribution of material/components to designated external manufacturing partners to ensure alignment with production plans and prevent supply disruptions.

  • Support designated New Product Launches by ensuring timely availability of materials and components to enable successful validation activities and production ramp-up.

  • Responsible for the process of Planning for subassembly materials to support uninterrupted production.

  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.

  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

  • For those who supervise or manage staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*

  • Minimum of BS in Business, Finance, Engineering, Logistics.

  • MBA in related fields a plus.

  • 8-10 years of experience in Procurement, Materials Management or related areas (materials planning, master scheduling, inventory management, capacity management, etc).

  • 3+ of experience as a people leader preferred.

  • Experience in Medical industry preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge/application of specific IT solutions to optimize purchasing processes.

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS*

  • Fluent in English.

  • CPIM, CSCP by APICS is preferred.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical reasoning.

  • People leadership.

  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems and Digital tools

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, complex and competitive environment

  • Proficient in Excel.
