Oncology Internship Program Overview:

The Global Oncology Internship Program at Johnson & Johnson is a comprehensive learning and professional experience at one of the world’s leading health care companies. This program is designed to build a future pool of talent/candidates who may pursue other open opportunities at Johnson & Johnson (https://www.careers.jnj.com/students) upon successfully completing their degree program. The internship position is a paid and full-time opportunity from mid-May through mid-August, 2027.

We work on a “hybrid model” if you are NOT lab based. This means reporting onsite for work three days a week and working remotely two days a week. Lab based interns must work onsite five days a week.

Job Description

As an oncology summer intern, you will be a member of a cross-function team dedicated to research and development (R&D) of oncologic therapeutics. Selected candidates will be assigned mentors and will have the opportunity to support and contribute to engaging projects in the Oncology Therapeutic Area where we are getting in front of cancer with our continued commitment to developing transformative treatment options to address unmet needs of patients and redefining the future of healthcare. Available Internship Areas Include:

Clinical Sciences – Support conduct/execution of clinical trials while gaining hands-on experience in drug development.

Discovery – Support lab bench work identification and development of drug compounds, assists with experiment designs, cell culture, assays, etc.

Global Medical Safety – Support safety surveillance, data review, and safety reporting for clinical trials and global regulatory submissions.

Translational Research – Support research in biomarker development, biomarker diagnostics and operations, computational biology, and data analysis to advance drug candidates through clinical trials

Medical Affairs - Supports training in clinical learning strategy, new hire onboarding, product and evidence launches, planning/preparation for conferences, data analyses using AI tools, and professional learning initiatives.

Qualifications:

· Legally/permanently authorized to work with no required sponsorships

· Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University program throughout internship

· Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 which is reflective of all college coursework

· Must not be graduating before, during, or after the start of the internship program. If graduating, it must be after the end of the internship program

· Undergraduate students with completion of a minimum of four semesters

· Graduate students must have obtained their undergraduate degree, and must be pursuing a Master’s, Physician’s Assistant, PharmD or PhD degree

· Enthusiastic, collaborative, able to build relationships and work within global matrixed and cross-functional teams

· Self-motivated, future scientist leaders passionate about drug development and clinical

research

· Great interpersonal skills, must be a self-starter, work independently while contributing to the team goals

· Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills

· Ability to lead peers, project teams and present to project and senior leadership teams

· Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities

· Ability to work on and balance multiple projects and initiatives while executing results

· Working knowledge and/or experience using Slack, Microsoft suite of business applications/tools including but not limited to Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Teams, Word, etc.
