ob Summary

The Junior NPI Engineer supports manufacturing and supplier readiness for new product introductions. This role assists in developing processes, supporting supplier qualification, and contributing to design transfer activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong technical curiosity and a desire to grow within NPI, Supplier Engineering, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support process development for internal and external manufacturing of new components and assemblies.

  • Assist in creating PFMEA, process flows, validation plans, and control plans.

  • Participate in supplier capability assessments and readiness reviews.

  • Contribute DFM/DFA/DFX input during design phases under guidance from senior engineers.

  • Assist in executing process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and collecting technical data.

  • Support PPAP deliverables and supplier qualification activities.

  • Collaborate with R&D, Supplier Engineering, Operations, and Quality to support design transfer.

  • Help investigate supplier or process issues using structured problem-solving tools.

  • Document results and maintain compliance with quality system requirements.

Qualifications – Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Biomedical, or related engineering field.

  • Internship or 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing, NPI, or process engineering.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.

  • Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications – Preferred

  • Exposure to regulated industries (medical devices preferred).

  • Basic knowledge of DFX principles, PFMEA, or process validation.

  • Experience with CAD tools or data analysis software (e.g., Minitab).

  • Hands-on experience through internships, co-op, or project work.
