Job Overview
The Sr. Manager, Strategic Project Mgmt. leads complex, cross‑functional programs that are critical to DePuy Synthes’ growth, transformation, and operational excellence. This role provides enterprise‑level project leadership, translating strategy into execution while ensuring delivery on scope, timeline, budget, and quality. The position is highly visible, partnering with senior leaders to drive business outcomes, standardize best‑in‑class project practices, and enable sustainable change across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple, large‑scale strategic initiatives and interdependent programs aligned to business priorities and transformation objectives.
Define project scope, success metrics, timelines, resource plans, and budgets; ensure disciplined execution and benefit realization.
Partner with senior leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders to align priorities, resolve risks, and remove execution barriers.
Establish and govern project management standards, tools, and best practices to improve consistency and delivery performance.
Provide clear, executive‑level communication on project status, milestones, financial health, and risks.
Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and change impacts; develop mitigation and change management plans.
Lead and mentor project managers and team members, fostering accountability, development, and high performance.
Ensure projects comply with internal governance, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent)
Experience and Skills
Required:
8–10 years of progressive experience in project and/or program management within a complex, matrixed organization.
Demonstrated success leading enterprise‑level, cross‑functional initiatives with significant scope and impact.
Proven leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities at senior levels.
Expertise in project governance, risk management, budgeting, and performance tracking.
Preferred:
Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or a highly regulated industry.
Experience leading transformation, integration, or large change initiatives.
Familiarity with portfolio management and enterprise PMO environments.
Demonstrated people leadership and talent development experience.
Advanced proficiency with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
Excellent communication skills, including executive‑ready presentations and status reporting.
Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Language: English (required)
Travel: Limited; up to ~20% domestic, with limited international travel as needed
Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or equivalent (preferred)

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
122,000.00 - 245,000.00 USD AnnualAdditional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
