Business Banking is seeking a strategic and influential leader for an exceptional opportunity to join as an Associate Director, leading our specialised Distribution Risk team. Reporting directly to the COO, this role offers a unique blend of proactive risk management and strategic leadership. You will be instrumental in providing valuable risk insights and accountability, working closely with a range of senior stakeholders across the business and risk ecosystems to embed and champion strong risk management practices.

What role will you play?

As the Associate Director of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of the risk and compliance frameworks that govern our business lending and deposits distribution. You will be responsible for leading the team and fostering a strong risk culture that aligns with our strategic objectives.
In this role, you will lead the embedding and ongoing enhancement of the Distribution Risk and Compliance framework, including the definition and monitoring of key risk indicators, while driving strong risk mindsets and accountability across the business. You will provide senior oversight of distribution related issues and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear, well judged escalation to the COO. Acting as a key gatekeeper for matters with potential reputational impact, you will apply critical analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership. As an advisor to the COO, you will deliver incisive risk insights to support informed decision making, while also overseeing the strategic management of customer complaints to ensure best practice outcomes and identify systemic issues and emerging themes. In addition, you will ensure that policies, procedures and controls remain best in class, and that distribution teams are equipped with the risk training and capability required to perform effectively.
