THE ROLE
As a Senior Solution Engineer, you are the technical engine behind every deal. You partner directly with our Sales team to win enterprise healthcare clients by demonstrating how Opmedsolves their most complex operational challenges — convincingly and credibly.
You will run discovery with hospital operations leaders, translate messy real-world workflows into structured solution narratives, and craft the business cases, demos, and proposals that move deals forward. You are equally comfortable presenting to a Chief Operating Officer and going deep with a Perioperative Director on block utilization data.
This is a pre-sales-focused role. Once a client signs, our dedicated Implementation team takes the baton — your job is to get them to the finish line of a confident 'yes', with every technical question answered and every stakeholder aligned.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Technical Discovery
- Lead structured discovery sessions with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to understand current scheduling workflows, pain points, and performance gaps.
- Map client environments — block utilization, case mix, staffing models, EHR systems — to identify where Opmed creates the most leverage.
- Define success metrics and evaluation criteria with the client before a POC or pilot begins.
Solution Design & Demos
- Design and deliver tailored, scenario-specific product demos that connect Opmed's capabilities directly to each client's operational reality.
- Build and run proof-of-concepts that use real or representative client data to show measurable projected outcomes.
- Adapt demo narratives for diverse audiences — from frontline schedulers to C-suite executives — without losing technical depth.
Business Case & Deal Support
- Build ROI models that quantify the clinical and financial impact of Opmed: OR utilization gains, revenue recapture, staffing efficiency, and cost avoidance.
- Draft Statements of Work (SOWs) and solution scope documents that set clear expectations, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Support RFP responses, executive presentations, and security/IT reviews alongside the Sales team.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout the sales cycle, resolving objections and building confidence across stakeholder groups.
Market & Product Feedback
- Feed insights from prospect conversations back to Product and Engineering — competitive gaps, unmet needs, recurring objections.
- Contribute to and maintain demo environments, solution playbooks, and ROI model templates as we scale the commercial team.
- Represent Opmed at industry events, conferences, and client workshops as a subject matter expert in healthcare operations optimization.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- 3–6 years of experience in a Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Pre-Sales role at a healthcare technology or digital health company.
- Proven track record of owning the technical side of enterprise sales cycles: discovery, demo delivery, POC design, and SOW drafting.
- Strong analytical skills — you can build an ROI model from scratch, interpret operational data, and turn it into a compelling financial narrative.
- Deep familiarity with healthcare provider workflows: OR scheduling, surgical planning, staffing, or hospital operations (direct experience strongly preferred).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — you adjust your register for a CFO, a CIO, and a charge nurse without losing substance.
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast pace; you thrive in early-stage startup environments where the playbook is still being written.
Preferred
- Experience with AI, machine learning, or optimization-based healthcare products.
- Familiarity with OR block management, capacity planning, or perioperative workflow concepts.
- Background in management consulting, solution architecture, or enterprise sales engineering in healthcare IT.
- Exposure to EHR/EMR ecosystems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and hospital data environments (HL7, FHIR, ADT feeds).
