Ramon.Space is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a growing team in the US to develop advanced digital processor sub-systems for US-focused opportunities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading developing mechanical structures for space applications.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, specifically in developing embedded systems for space applications.

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead and grow a multidisciplinary team in the US to develop advanced digital satellite processing system for US-focused opportunities.

Experience with United States Space Force (USSF), Satellite Development Agency (SDA), or other U.S Government Agency is a significant advantage.

What you will be doing

  • Drive all the mechanical design aspects of state-of-the-art space-based on-board processors
  • Drive multiple early design concepts while working in fast-paced product development cycles.
  • Independently lead product design from concept, through detailed design, and support it during Qualification and Production stages.
  • Join and lead task forces to investigate and support production excursions, failure analysis and reliability issues.
  • Collaborate in research of ground-breaking technologies, materials, and processes with other groups to bring in creative ideas that solve ever growing needs.
  • Work with cross functional teams to define hardware interfaces and manage dependencies.
  • Work closely with hardware, RF, and validation engineers to define mechanical specifications, verification, and production processes.
  • Work closely with system integration team and validation team.
  • Work closely with spacecraft integrators to prove the design and its interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - desired
  • 7+ years of experience in electro-mechanical product design, including designs for PCB/PCBAs
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD - SolidWorks an advantage.
  • Experience in developing fixtures for product assembly/testing.
  • High awareness for quality and manufacturability, and understanding of statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Demonstrated success as a mechanical lead for complex space-based architecture
  • Will-do attitude for resolving problems, programming, complexity analytics and large-scale system design
  • Experience working with on-board digital payloads and/or processors
  • Experience working with customers in all stages of the program lifecycle
  • Experience working with institutional and government customers, such as ESA, NASA, USSF, or other
  • Ability to work and operate in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to work concurrently with multiple groups in the organization
