Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities :
- System Engineer for RedHat Enterprise Linux Server Service & Cloud Service of Bosch worldwide.
- Installation and maintenance of Linux Operating System and related components in a Large-scale RHEL/Ubuntu/Debian Server infrastructure via Automations. Ensure stable, secure and efficient service and operations.
- Ansible playbooks development, scripting, programming for Automation. Continuously improve the automation status.
- Java development (APIs) for Automation purposes.
- Coordinate and collaborate with 1st & 2nd level support, Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for escalated technical issues.
- Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management. Continuously improve the process where needed.
- Ensure hardening, patch management and upgrades of Linux Servers is properly done.
- Address audit findings and IT risks including remediation, progress tracking, status reporting and evidence documentation.
- Maintain high-availability of systems.
- Improve monitoring systems (Icinga/nagios/Grafana).
- Prepare and maintain SOP documentations.
- Consult and collaborate with IT and DevOps teams on security best practices and requirements for Linux/Unix Operating systems in On-Prem/Cloud environments.
- Perform Host management, Golden image management and Automation for cloud platforms.
- Hardware maintenance of x86 and Sparc Hardware.
- Coordinate storage, backup and ESX administration.
- Continuously improve the visibility of the security status of the environment.
- Participate in Agile meetings.
- 5 years of relevant professional experience and knowledge in the field of RHEL/Ubuntu/Debian Operations and System engineering with Automation.
- Experience in managing Linux Servers in a large scale Ubuntu/Debian/RHEL environment with good administration skills.
- Integrating Ubuntu/RHEL infrastructure with Identity providers such as AD, PAM. Good knowledge in SSSD and KERBEROS (Modern Authentications).
- Experience in Ansible Automation platform (formally Tower), good at developing/scripting Ansible playbooks/roles to automate tasks in large IT infrastructure.
- Experience and comprehensive knowledge in IT security.
- Good communication and coordination skill to ensure client requests and escalations are handled well with high level of customer satisfactions.
- Knowledge and experience of monitoring systems (Icinga/nagios/Grafana).
- Good understanding of DevOps, SRE and Agile principles.
- Good understanding of CI/CD Pipelines.
- Experience with IT Service Management based on ITIL and industry established quality standards.
- Must be able to perform work independently in accordance with defined organization standards.
- Experience using different patch management solutions (Eg: Satellite, Suse manager, BMC, Big Fix) to handle patch management for large infrastructure at a scale of 10,000+ systems
- Knowledge of patch management, reporting, and automation technologies.
Qualifications
Educational qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar specialization/technical discipline
Experience :
- 5 years of relevant professional experience and knowledge in the field of RHEL/Ubuntu/Debian Operations and System engineering with Automation.
