What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that Saga Math is implemented effectively at the school site. The primary goal of the Site Coordinator is to drive student learning in Saga Math Lab by consistently improving the effectiveness of the math lab environment, creating a space where students, tutors, and tutorials can flourish. This is accomplished through the day-to-day supervision of Math Tutors and Lead Math Tutors, weekly consultations with the Director of Programs on trends, and implementing feedback to create action plans that improve and/or maintain the site, Fellow, and student performance. Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Supervise and support the day-to-day activities of Math Tutors and Lead Math Tutors within the classroom
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with school staff and administration
  • Create and maintain systems that align with school systems, policies, and culture, such as, but not limited to, creating processes for bathroom passes, implementing consistent systems that reduce and/or exclude phone usage for students, creating a safe and learning classroom environment for all students, etc
  • Gather and analyze internal assessment data (math class grades, STAR scores, attendance, tardiness, etc.), and develop action plans to drive student learning with guidance from the Director of Programs
  • Design and maintain the Saga Math Lab aesthetic, including room decor, posters, incentive trackers, etc
  • In collaboration with the Director of Programs, maintain tutorial engagement initiatives for students, incorporate incentives that promote learning and reward, and provide consistent classroom processes to support tutors and tutorials
  • Engage with learning platforms and support troubleshooting as needed
  • Maintain fidelity of Saga classroom procedures, structures, and expectations while monitoring students on both Saga and the district’s learning platforms.
  • Enact coverage procedures when tutors are absent
  • Collect and maintain accurate attendance records daily
  • Ensure students are greeted at the door by a Saga adult daily
  • Act as the liaison with other Saga departments when help is needed (i.e. help desk with tech troubles)
  • Ensure incident reports are consistently followed at both the school and the Saga levels for any incidents that occur. Immediately reach out to the Director of Programs

What You Bring

  • Associate’s Degree or higher
  • Experience with Google Suites, and/or any other data tracking software
  • You have 1+ years of experience in middle or high school math education and/or student teaching or experience serving as a Saga Tutor
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple technology platforms
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple outcomes within a day or week
  • You have lived or work experience in historically underserved communities
