As a Senior Project Engineer (SPE), you will play an instrumental part in the future of telecommunications infrastructure. This role demands a proven track record in managing complex orders, driving process improvements, and ensuring execution of large-scale projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Complex Orders and the technical resource for Project Engineers within the Develop and Build/DART team addressing any issues.
  • Plan and manage the composition, build, maintenance, and relocation of Optus projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality.
  • Collaborate closely with the Fibre Manager and Project Engineers.
  • Liaise with governmental departments, utilities, and collaborators to negotiate facility access or space for infrastructure projects.
  • Manage external contractors, ensuring compliance with OH&S policies and effective contract management.
  • Provide technical assistance and contribute to the development of people through training and performance feedback.

What You Bring

  • Tertiary, Trade Certificate, or TAFE qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of recent experience in telecommunications, specifically in infrastructure build and construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of optical fibre delivery methods, installation practices, and route selection.
  • Proven experience coordinating contractors and understanding financial processes, including budgets and project cost analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in various environments, including restricted spaces and at heights.
  • A current driver’s license is essential.
