Associate Director, Personalisation & MarTech Capability (Macquarie Park, Australia)
Macquarie Park NSW 2113, Australia
Every day, millions of Australians connect, work, stream and stay in touch on the Optus network. Behind that experience is a team making critical decisions that keep people, businesses and communities connected.
We're looking for an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as Associate Director, Personalisation & MarTech Capability. In this role, you'll shape and evolve the capabilities that enable Optus to understand customers, make more relevant decisions and deliver personalised experiences across digital and assisted channels. You’ll connect the customer strategy with data, decisioning, MarTech and digital capabilities to help move Optus from campaign-led engagement towards real-time, personalised customer experiences.
You will own the capability roadmap, backlog and requirements for personalisation, translating business and customer priorities into clear, actionable and delivery-ready outcomes. Working across customer data, decisioning and marketing automation streams, you'll play a critical role in connecting strategy with execution and enabling personalisation at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategy, roadmap and ongoing evolution of personalisation and MarTech capabilities, connecting customer needs with data, decisioning, digital, AdTech and Channel capabilities.
- Own and prioritise the capability backlog, ensuring business needs are translated into clear, delivery-ready requirements.
- Partner with CVM, digital, data and technology teams to translate customer and business use cases into scalable personalisation solutions.
- Drive alignment between customer, channel and technology priorities, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud and related platforms.
- Monitor platform capabilities, emerging technology and vendor roadmaps to identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes, simplify execution and evolve the capability.
- Own and actively manage the capability backlog, translating business needs into clear, prioritised and deliver-ready requirements using Jira and agreed prioritisation frameworks.
- Act as the key stakeholder contact, supporting adoption, governance and successful delivery of personalisation initiatives.
What makes you right for the role?
- Experience defining and delivering MarTech, digital or personalisation capability strategies.
- Strong backlog management and requirements gathering expertise.
- Experience using Jira to manage delivery pipelines and prioritisation frameworks.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and align business and technology teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of customer data, decisioning, marketing automation or personalisation ecosystems.
- Experience with platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud or similar technologies is highly regarded.
