Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Analyzes key clinical and financial metrics responsible for patient satisfaction, clinical efficiency and outcomes, and financial return on investment
• Understands the connection and interaction between utilization review, case management, and revenue cycle metrics (e.g., linkage between observation rate and denial rate)
• Conducts deeper analysis into metrics to understand the key drivers and potential impacts to numbers
• Responsible for measurement and ongoing improvement of ROI measures.
• Identifies opportunities to improve and optimize clinical and financial functions based on best practices and understanding of client-specific factors such as staffing levels, process adherence, platform usage, etc.
• Synthesizes findings into a value story that clearly articulates areas of success and areas for improvement, using client-specific data as well as peer group / all-client benchmarks
• Creates and delivers the value story as part of regular Business Reviews with assigned Community clients
• Builds client alignment and support for findings and recommendations through pre-meeting reviews and post-meeting follow-ups
• Able to respond to probing, challenging questions from client executives about the value story
• Works actively with a cross-functional client account team to understand client-specific details about people, process, and technology to ensure recommendations are appropriate to the situation
• Supports client account team, including client relationship executives, nurse optimization consultants, business analysts, and technical support resources, in achieving goals of client satisfaction, retention, renewal, and appropriate upsell opportunities
• Mentors business analysts to ensure appropriate understanding of clinical and financial metrics, additional areas of ad hoc analysis requiring further investigation, and factors that could lead to metric changes
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of Account Management, Consulting, or Financial Analysis experience within the Healthcare industry (specifically hospital technology systems, Revenue Cycle SaaS or Revenue Cycle Operations).
• Prior experience as a management consultant with executive-level interaction desirable.
• Demonstrated strong data analytical skills required.
• Executive-level communication experience required.
• Healthcare industry preferred.
• Revenue Cycle and/or Hospital Operations experience preferred.
Other:
• Proven track record of executive-level communication and formal presentation delivery tied to value realization and demonstration
• Strong executive-level presence and ability to gain credibility, alignment, and buy-in
• Professional and effective communication skills required at all client levels.
• Ability to facilitate virtual and in-person meetings with clients at all levels; ability to “read the room” to detect informal body language
• Highly organized and analytical; possesses a “healthy skepticism of easy answers” and is capable of professionally and politely digging into quantitative details to find the truth
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have any direct reports and is a single contributor role.
Working Environment and Travel Requirements
Work is typically in a normal office administrative environment involving minimal exposure to physical risks. Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Mostly sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. No significant stooping is usually required. Minimal travel; up to 25% travel to client sites for business reviews.
